The sequel to Eva Evergreen’s story was released this year and will be available in paperback edition in July. The protagonist, Eva, has to spend a lunar month in a city to turn from apprentice witch to a novice. The only problem is that Eva only has a pinch of magic, which runs out very quickly and when this happens the little girl falls asleep. Although many people don’t believe in her, Eva shows that she can defend the city with that pinch of magic on her own. Continuing the story, Eva has to face the wizard behind the natural disaster that threatens the entire realm.

Thomas Taylor: Festergrimm (Walker Books 2022)

The fourth book in the Legends of Eerie-on-Sea series by Thomas Taylor will be released this September. The series will be five volumes long. It looks like the peace is over in Eerie-on-Sea… Herbie and Violet’s archenemy is back (from death!) and wants to reopen Festergrimm’s Waxworks, a dusty old gallery of spooky characters from a legend. Residents of Eerie-on-Sea don’t seem to have learned from past events and welcome the idea. Herbie and Violet have to investigate the mystery and defend the town. The cover of the novel was again designed by George Ermos.

Anna James: Pages & Co. – The Treehouse Library (HarperCollins Publishers 2022)

The Treehouse Library is the penultimate volume in the Pages & Co. series. Already in the previous part, the lead role was divided between Tilly and Milo, in this novel we will rather follow Milo as he and his new friend Alessia try to find the antidote to the poison the Alchemist has given to some people. Their path leads to the Botanist, who is the Alchemist’s greatest enemy. Their mission is not only important to them, because if the Alchemist succeeds, the existence of the entire fantasy world written in the books could be jeopardized. The volume is illustrated by Marco Guadalupi.

Marple: Twelve New Stories (HarperCollins Publishers 2022)

Finally, finally, finally! Miss Marple is investigating again. In the collection of short stories we can read 12 original short stories by 12 bestselling authors. These stories introduce Jane Marple’s character to a whole new generation. Each author re-imagines Agatha Christie’s Marple through their own unique perspective, while remaining true to the original characteristics of the story and the character. The authors include Leigh Bardugo (Ninth House, Six of Crows), Lucy Foley (The Guest List, The Paris Apartment) and Karen M. McManus (One of Us Is Lying, Two Can Keep a Secret), so the stories promise to be very good. It will be published with the dark cover in the US and with the light in the UK.
